Reading is a game-changer.
What do you like best, fiction or non-fiction? Personally, I like both. When I'm curious, I prefer non-fiction. And when I want some philosophy or just a free vacation, I prefer fiction.
Reading Log
- Plato's Republic - I think one of my favorite things about this text is how timeless the wisdom has turned out to be. I know a lot of it has been influenced by culture and language changes through time, but it really seems like humans have been humans for a very long time.
- Good Omens - I feel like Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman are brothers to Douglas Adams (who is my all-time favorite author). This book feels like something ol' DNA would love. The inteprlay between comedy, mythology, and philosophy always entertains me.
- Happy People Are Annoying - I knew absolutely nothing about Josh Peck prior to reading this book, other than that he was a child star. As a person with an idyllic childhood, I always thought being famous at that age (or any age) would be a particular level of hell, and I was curious about it. Reading his story was particularly interesting to me when I learned that not only was he NOT a result of nepotism, but also did not have parents trying to live their own dreams through him.
